Tacy Byham, Ph.D.

Vice President, Executive Development

Tacy Byham is the Vice President of Executive Development for Development Dimensions International’s (DDI) Executive Solutions group. Tacy provides consulting across clients’ strategic talent needs including their talent strategy, talent management, talent assessment, development planning, and executive development.

Tacy has published a number of articles and white papers, and is an energetic and thought-provoking presenter at industry conferences and events. Notably, her research received the national ASTD Dissertation Award at the International Conference and Expo in 2006.

Thought Leadership  

  • In 2010, Tacy co-authored a chapter in the ASTD Leadership Handbook on “Leadership Development Strategy.” With thought leaders that include Ken Blanchard, Jim Collins and Marshall Goldsmith, she was one of 48 leadership experts ASTD tapped for this compilation. 
  • Tacy received the national ASTD Dissertation Award at its International Conference and Expo in 2006 for her research to ensure that the corporate investments in behavioral diagnosis (multirater/360ºs or executive assessment centers) result in behavior change for the participants.
  • She has also presented at Conference Board events, Human Resource Executive’s NY HR Week, the Annual International Congress on the Assessment Center Methods and ASTD’s International Conference and Exposition.

Career Highlights

  • Tacy manages DDI’s executive development capabilities, Business Impact LeadershipSM, that ensure action-oriented alignment of senior leaders relative to organizational business imperatives. 
  • In her prior role, Tacy focused on building and marketing the leadership development system, Interaction Management: Exceptional Leaders...Extraordinary Results® (IM: EX), winner of HR Executive's top training program award. 
  • In the leadership arena she has been the architect of corporate leadership universities and translating the “What’s and the When’s” of the Leadership Pipeline philosophy into “How’s” for DDI’s clients. 
  • Since joining DDI in 1996, Tacy has had a variety of roles in the organization, including executive assessment, succession management, and organizational leadership transformation. 
  • Tacy spent two years living and working abroad as a master trainer of leadership solutions for clients in Europe and the U.S.
  • Tacy was recently selected as one of Pittsburgh Magazine’s “40 Under 40” award winners in honor of her professional and volunteer accomplishments in the Pittsburgh region.
