
ReutersNeed:To support a new business strategy, Reuters needed to equip its management team with the skills and behaviors required to lead change. Reuters decided to focus on its 1,200 first-level managers, because they directly touch half the organization.
Solution:Reuters partnered with DDI to create a comprehensive leadership development program for first-level managers at multiple international locations. This program is focused on getting managers to reflect on their own management style and performance. Its centerpiece is a three-day workshop, The Management Challenge, which covers topics such as managing in a matrix structure, effective delegation, and coaching. The program also includes 360° feedback and an online skills refresher component.
Results:Those managers who have completed the program now have a core set of management skills to build upon, as well as an expanded peer network of managers from across the Reuters organization. Feedback from participants has been “incredibly positive.”
