DDI presented a leadership development case study with Fortescue Metals Group Limited at the Resources Workforce Summit November 29 – 30

DDI recently sponsored the Resources Workforce Summit in Perth from 29 – 30 November.

The main ‘pain points’ that delegates discussed included:
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Employee Retention
  • Emerging Leaders – how employees cope with being promoted
  • Employee Engagement

Delegates also knew they needed to do something – they just weren’t sure where to start or how to get to where they think they wanted be on their leadership development journey!

It was great to see a collection of delegates who had worked with DDI before, had heard of DDI before, or were fresh new to meet and greet.

On day 2, DDI’s Susan Stevens, Regional WA Consultant presented a case study with Pauline Sullivan from Fortescue Metals Group Limited. Delegates heard how Fortescue realised value and competitive edge from leadership development. The case study presented:

  • What the Fortescue initiative involved
  • DDI’s Success Architecture for Implementation
  • Seven Imperatives for People Leaders
  • How they developed Leadership Skills and Confidence
  • The Results so far
  • Ongoing Sustainability
The engaging presentation ingrained how foundational skills such as DDI’s core concepts and key principles help to build leadership skills and confidence of emerging leaders.

A big thank you to Pauline Sullivan from Fortescue, for co presenting with Susan and sharing the Fortescue leadership journey.
