Angy Wong

Strategic Account Manager, DDI Malaysia

Angy is the Strategic Account Manager for DDI Malaysia. Her focus is on serving the needs of key clients, ensuring that critical talent management gaps are addressed with the right solutions at the right time. She supports the overall growth of DDI’s business in Malaysia as an active member of the team and engaging with key client stakeholders in major projects.

She has led several major projects in talent management and performance management, providing advice on system design, implementation and change management to many large organizations from a wide range of industries.

Career Highlights

  • Angy has more than 30 years of experience in the HR field. She started her career with an accounting firm as a project associate in the management consulting practice area, focusing primarily on human resource development.
  • She joined DDI as a business as a business development consultant in 1992 and was later promoted to senior consultant and subsequently to the role of general manager in Malaysia. She decided to focus on serving key clients in addressing critical human capital issues and needs, and assumed her current role as Strategic Account Manager in 2012.
  • Early in her career, Angy was responsible for turning around a share registration services company. As a young manager, she was responsible for directing all aspects of the business. Within three years, together with a staff of more than 30, she managed to achieve impressive bottom-line results by streamlining work processes, improving efficiency, reducing operating costs, and increasing staff productivity through implementing formal training and coaching.
  • Before joining DDI in 1992, Angy was the training specialist in one of the largest conglomerate groups in Malaysia, with a special focus on setting up structured training for all its executives. She undertook several major projects, including conducting training needs assessments for some public-listed companies; starting a training school to serve the development needs of more than 5,000 executives; designing core programs, evaluating training, and procuring suitable vendors for other programs; and personally conducting selected courses.
  • A partial list of clients for which Angy has provided consulting advice includes PETRONAS, Maybank, Sapura, BASF, DiGi, KLCC Property Holdings, and Kellogg Company.

Education and Credentials

  • Diploma in Business Studies (Major in Accounting) from Tunku Abdul Rahman College, gaining HR knowledge and experience through continuous formal training, self-study, and on-the-job experiences
