Start Networking Right Away (Even If You Hate It)

Harvard Business Review’s January 2009 issue features an article written by Bill Byham, “Start Networking Right Away (Even If You Hate It)”. The article discusses how new managers need to be courageous networkers and creating deliberate connections within the first month or two after a promotion.

The article comes from the expertise of Bill’s newly available whitepaper “Strong Start to Job Success” about what leaders can do to shorten time to proficiency, increase job engagement and reduce early turnover.

Late last year, Bill was featured as a contributor on HBR.com’s blogs on the same topic, in a piece titled: “Just Got Promoted? Network! Network! Network!”
