"What a pleasure a coffee house daily bestows!
To read and hear how the World merrily goes."
From The Coffee House, James Miller

Café DDI Philippines

Coffee houses in Europe and America have traditionally been venues for the free exchange of ideas between and among individuals, regardless of their background. This coffee culture lives on and thrives here in the Philippines. People frequent cafés not only to enjoy their favorite coffee blend, but also to meet with friends for kuwentuhan or good conversation.

This spirit lives on at Café DDI, where fun, fellowship, and learning are brewing. Whether it’s enjoying a cup of coffee, or getting updates on the latest trends and issues in selection, training, succession andtalent management and HR solutions, or reconnecting with friends and fellow facilitators, Café DDI is the place to be.

Café DDI is a quarterly event exclusively for DDI-certified facilitators in client organizations. If you are a certified facilitator in Facilitation Skills, Interaction Management®, Service Plus®® or Targeted Selection® ® and would like to receive invitations to Café DDI, please send an email to info.ph@ddiworld.com.

April 2008

Cafe DDI HighlightsThe summer sunshine brought fun and learning to Café DDI: Change Management. The event featured highlights from our courses Adapting to Change and Leading Change and pointers on how to manage change both personally and in their role as a leader. This quarter’s Café DDI also featured the dimensions of a Change Strategist.
One of the dimensions is Applying a Theoretical Framework—and we did just that in an engaging group exercise. Participants were given a fictional case to analyze and propose change initiatives on, using any of the six frameworks discussed (including our Framework for Selection Success, Talent Optimization and Success Architecture frameworks).
Café DDI allowed our clients’ DDI-certified facilitators to get an overview and experience our three change management solutions in an afternoon.

Café DDI had another special Chief Barista in July--none other than: DDI's Senior Vice President of International Operations, David Tessmann-Keys In his presentation entitled Going Global: Do You Have the Right Leaders to Get You There?, David spoke about how irreversible the phenomenon of DDI PresentationGlobalization is and posed two questions about global leaders: Are they different? and Are they Born or Made? These leaders--called "Conductors"--have a special DNA that make s them special. David shared and pointers were given out on how to develop them Conductors by identifying and them, preparing them, and letting them loose.

Another highlight of this Café DDI was the debut presentation of the Global Leadership Forecast 2008|2009 results by Master Trainer Bing Manlapaz. We added a new twist to Café DDI’s regular blends: For the first time, we invited a guest speaker In a first for Café DDI, we invited to share expertise and insights. a guest speaker in the person of Dr. Edgardo Morato of who spoke about Self Mastery. Based on his book of the same title, Dr. Morato talked about achievement and success, and how both of these can be inhibited by our personal attributes. Overcoming these individual roadblocks or these individual peculiarities in order to maximize our potential is what Self Mastery is all about.
