As manufacturing organizations grapple with the need for greater cybersecurity, what’s become increasingly apparent is that while cybersecurity is a technology challenge, it must also become an ingrained part of organizational culture if manufacturers are to protect sensitive data. That requires a new breed of capable leaders who have the right combination of awareness, knowledge, and “future-focused” competencies. A cyber-ready culture requires buy-in and ownership in the C-suite—not just by the CIO—close alignment with organizational strategy, and the cascading of responsibilities and goals all the way down through the organization.
