Epworth HealthCare is a leading not-for-profit private health care group. To continue to be a leader in its field, Epworth needed talent with the right mix of skills to step into key leadership roles. A ready supply of leaders within the business was not available, however, and the organisation could not rely solely on the market for this talent. Epworth worked with DDI to develop a strategic approach to growing talent from within by identifying talent with leadership potential and accelerating their development—preparing them to step into critical future executive positions.
"You see them [talent pool members] grow in confidence that they’re capable of doing things that they previously weren’t given the opportunity of doing.’’ Says Alan. “Recently, we’ve had a couple of executive roles become available. We advertised widely, got great fields of talent externally and internally. The great success for me, about this program, was our internal candidates shone through and were successful in these positions.”
