Introducing the Global Leadership Forecast 2014|2015

Richard S. Wellins, Ph.D. It’s been a labor of love, and we are thrilled to introduce the 2014|2015 Global Leadership Forecast (GLF), a massive DDI and Conference Board study. Our intent when we started the project over a year ago was to produce comprehensive and insightful research on leadership. Not an easy task given the dozens of studies that vie for your attention. There are, however, a number of things that Evan Sinar (our Chief Scientist) and I wanted to accomplish:

  1. Global Leadership Forecast 2014|2015Start with You to Make It Relevant. Using a variety of crowd-sourcing techniques, we gathered the majority of the questions in the GLF from leaders and talent management professionals . We wanted to ensure we were asking questions people wanted answered.
  2. Make It Big. The advantage of a large number of participants is the ability to compare industries, genders, countries, generations, levels of leadership, and more. Thanks to those who were willing to fill out yet another survey, we gathered responses from over 13,000 leaders, 1,800 HR professionals, and 2,000 companies—over 26 countries!
  3. Connect to Business. Our initial report has 18 findings about leadership. In many cases, we correlated our findings with outside financial data so you could better determine what really makes a difference to your business.
  4. Help You Succeed. All of these findings and data are interesting, but so what? What can you do with it? We wanted this report to offer “actionable insights,” and that’s what you’ll find in the “Now What!” section of each finding. We hope it serves its purpose.
