Brad Grider

Hanesbrands, Inc.

Brad Grider is the Director of Global Labor & NGO Relations and Global Learning at Hanesbrands, Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC. Brad joined Hanesbrands in 2008 and is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing HbI's labor and employee relations and learning/development strategies for 68,000 employees worldwide, as well as engaging with global unions, non-governmental, and civil society organizations on employee-relations matters.

On the L & D side, Brad and his team are responsible for cultivating a learning environment that drives individual and business results by developing people for their current and future roles in an ever-changing marketplace. Working closely with DDI, Brad was instrumental in developing and piloting a leading-edge performance management process, which has since been phased in globally. Brad's unique labor and learning role puts him regularly in Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia supporting the supply chain and other business functions and driving actions to improve employee engagement.

Brad has held progressive positions in human resources over his career and has worked in manufacturing and corporate settings in the aluminum, steel, glass, industrial automation, automotive, and apparel industries within industry leaders Alcoa, Rockwell Automation, Pilkington Glass, Federal-Mogul, and Hanesbrands. He received his B.S. in Psychology and Masters in Labor & Industrial Relations from Michigan State University. Brad is a frequent speaker for the HR Policy Association and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Wake Forest University, where he developed the curriculum and currently teaches Labor Law in WFU's online Master's in Studies of Law program. He served 3 terms on the Board of Directors of the Fair Labor Association, a multi-stakeholder initiative dedicated to improve working conditions in factories around the world.
