Executing Corporate Strategy: A Global Study

While it may be impossible to assess the strength of an organization's strategy, execution can be objectively measured and improved. This is according to a study of organizations in 20 industry sectors and 20 countries conducted by the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp).

i4cp presents Executing Corporate Strategy: A Global Study and explores how organizations execute strategy and how leaders connect strategy to internal and external realities by using their talent, technologies, and operations.

This global study highlights four practices and leadership behaviors that had the highest correlations to both market performance and strategy execution effectiveness.

The four key practices to execute strategy include:

  • Highly visible support of the strategy on the part of leaders is established and maintained
  • Leaders regularly communicate progress to all employees
  • The execution of strategy is considered to be a top priority
  • There is focus on a common threat without creating a culture of fear
