Michael Rafferty

Michael is responsible for managing the operations in Melbourne, consulting with clients to determine appropriate talent management strategies, and managing the design, implementation and execution of development and assessment programs. Michael also works closely with Executive teams to develop leadership effectiveness and to align Executive behaviours with strategic priorities. He is an experienced coach and has worked with a number of Senior Leaders to provide feedback and development on leadership impact and interpersonal effectiveness.

His area of experience and expertise includes leadership development, Executive team development and the execution of strategy.

Michael has over 20 years experience in financial services organisations holding positions in human resources, leadership development, change management, strategy and product management. It is this diverse role and organisational background that provides Michael with the insights into the systemic nature of organisations and organisational change.

Key capabilities and Experience

  • Michael has broad corporate experience and has held leadership roles in Technology, Product Development, Strategy, Transformation and Human Resources. He has significant consulting experience in HR and Organisation Development across a range of different industries and locations.
  • Michael is a highly experienced facilitator and coach for individual and team development and has a specific interest leadership development and group facilitation
  • Michael has worked with DDI for four years. Prior to the role of Principal Consultant he operated as a Senior Consultant and was a leading player in the DDI Australia Consulting team on a range of assessment and development programs
  • Prior to joining DDI he spent 13 years with the National Australia Bank and held a number of leadership and specialist roles in both the UK and Australia. Latterly in his bank career he specialised on the alignment of workforce and leadership capabilities with business strategy.
  • Michael has also worked in Technology and Project Management for a number of Financial Service businesses in the UK.
