The Hidden Potential of Generation X

Who is the next generation of leaders, and how will they impact the nature of work?  As the largest generation in the workforce, Millennials are ascending into new leadership roles, but it's Generation X that now holds the majority of leadership roles globally. With an average of 20 years of workplace experience, Gen X leaders are primed to assume all top executive roles over the next decade, yet little is known about what distinguishes their experiences and impact in the workplace. With this in mind, we took a closer look at Gen X leaders and how they differ from other generations as part of Global Leadership Forecast 2018.

Gen X will continue leading the workforce for at least the next 15-20 years, with the youngest members of this generation possibly working for up to 30 more years. This means that they will be the backbone of organizations' leadership for quite some time, even if they are often being unnoticed. Organizations that overlook them in favor of focusing on the younger generations entering the workforce will miss out on a deep and valuable source of leadership potential.

In this webinar, Stephanie Neal, DDI’s Senior Research Consultant, will discuss:

  • How to unleash the hidden potential of your Generation X employees.
  • Four key ways this generation of leaders stands out from others.
  • How Gen X leaders are bridging the gap between the two, much larger generations surrounding them in the workplace.
