Need

Operating from offices in about 25 countries around the world, Foster Wheeler was looking to expand to other areas of the world and to diversify its services in high-growth markets. To operate effectively and efficiently across such an extensive organization, Foster Wheeler recognized the crucial need of effective leadership to drive employee engagement and performance.

Solution

To address these needs, Foster Wheeler partnered with DDI to design the Learning to Lead (L2L) development program for its new leaders with content from the Interaction Management® system. The immediate goal of the program was to provide these leaders with the skills and knowledge they needed to be more effective at managing their employees’ performance.

Results

  • 44 percent overall increase in the number of L2L trainees that frequently displayed effective leadership
  • 30 percent overall increase in effective leadership behaviors
  • 8 percent improvement in trainees’ overall job performance
